Camping in Valdez
Alright, so you read Part 1 (if you didn’t check it out here) and you thought I want to visit the beautiful town of Valdez, but I want to camp. Well my friend, are you in luck!
A word of warning, before making the drive down definitely check out 511.gov for road conditions, construction work and any other important information you may need to make the drive down a success! The frost heaves in our SUV were no joke, and I can only imagine how they would feel towing a large camper trailer or in a mega-rv.
Once you get finish the drive, there are plenty of options to “rough it”.
Eagle Rest RV Park and Cabins
Almost directly across the street from the Valdez RV Park, this epic RV Park features plenty of spaces as well as cabins to meet all your vacation needs. From this beautiful location, you can walk to restaurants, shops and to boat tours from the harbor. They can even do the Bookings and Ticketing for the Columbia/Mears Glacier Tours, Helicopter Tours, Fishing Charters and Rafting Trips which really takes the stress off of planning your vacation!
Blueberry Lake Campground
Nestled beside a serene lake, this campground is perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat. It features a small number of campsites surrounded by forest, ideal for fishing, kayaking, or simply soaking in the tranquility. The picturesque scenery makes it a favorite spot for photographers and nature lovers. Sites can be reserved on HipCamp or are first-come first serve.
Valdez KOA
Surrounded by stunning glacier-peaked mountain views, this RV Park is the perfect gateway to fishing adventures, just 4 miles from the lively downtown area—where peace and tranquility await! Big rig-friendly sites offer 50/30 amp service with water, and many come with full hookups for your convenience.
